Overview

This role is for a Senior Commercial Counsel to join a global legal team remotely within the United States, preferably in the Eastern or Central Time Zones. The position primarily supports activities in North America, with occasional involvement in EMEA and APAC regions.

The organization is a technology company specializing in cloud solutions, helping cloud-driven businesses leverage technology for growth and innovation. The company offers expertise in Kubernetes, GenAI, CloudOps, and partners strategically with major cloud providers and distributors worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements including strategic transactions, partner agreements, license agreements, SaaS and professional service contracts, data processing agreements, and vendor contracts.
  • Lead and provide legal support for channel partner activities such as MSP, VAR, distribution, and system integrators.
  • Assist with legal matters related to product launches, collections, human resources, and litigation.
  • Manage day-to-day legal inquiries in collaboration with other legal team members and business units.
  • Handle ad hoc legal tasks including corporate entity support, risk assessments, compliance documentation, and data privacy reviews.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) degree.
  • 8-12 years of substantive legal experience in an international corporate environment.
  • Proven experience supporting sales teams in technology companies, with specific expertise in SaaS and channel partner programs.
  • Preferred experience with product and offering launches.
  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams, understanding sales needs while managing legal risks.
  • Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple projects across different time zones.
  • Self-driven, resourceful, results-oriented, and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in English; additional language skills are a plus.
