Overview
A Fortune 500 healthcare company is seeking an experienced attorney for a 3-6 month part-time engagement starting as soon as possible. The role involves supporting commercial contracting and providing business counseling for the company’s Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics, and Supplies (DMEPOS) supplier business.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on a wide range of commercial agreements related to a national DMEPOS supplier business
- Counsel business stakeholders on commercial transactions and strategic initiatives with a practical, solutions-oriented approach
- Negotiate managed care and payor agreements
- Support manufacturer supply agreements, rebate arrangements, and commercial support programs
- Advise on strategic collaborations, marketing and co-marketing arrangements, and pharmacy and care services agreements
- Provide guidance on disputes involving organizations across the continuum of care
- Advise on healthcare regulatory considerations impacting commercial transactions, including the Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, Civil Monetary Penalties Law, Stark Law, and Beneficiary Inducement rules
- Partner closely with business leaders to communicate legal risks, tradeoffs, and practical recommendations that facilitate business objectives
Requirements
- Licensed attorney with at least 8 years of experience
- Significant experience supporting DMEPOS suppliers is required
- Deep experience negotiating commercial healthcare agreements, particularly managed care and payor contracts
- Experience with manufacturer supply agreements, rebates, commercial support programs, and healthcare collaborations
- Strong working knowledge of federal healthcare fraud and abuse laws and related regulatory frameworks

- Compensation: $100 - $115 per hour
