Overview
This role is for a Senior Corporate Attorney specializing in Entity Management & Regulatory Reinsurance within a Business Law Group. The position involves serving as a trusted legal and strategic advisor on complex reinsurance, regulatory, and corporate matters. Responsibilities include supporting reinsurance and subsidiary entity management functions such as licensing initiatives, legislative and statutory analysis, and cross-functional projects. Legal counsel provided will help advance organizational objectives while managing legal, regulatory, and operational risks.
This is a remote position with a preferred location in Cleveland, Ohio. The role requires quarterly travel to the corporate headquarters in Cleveland as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice on complex reinsurance, regulatory, and corporate matters
- Support reinsurance and subsidiary entity management functions, including licensing initiatives
- Conduct legislative and statutory analysis
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives
- Manage legal, regulatory, and operational risk
Requirements
- Juris Doctorate or Master of Laws (LLM) degree
- Minimum of five years of post-degree legal practice experience
- Active license to practice law in at least one state
- Active or corporate license in the state where working (or eligibility to obtain one)
Preferred Qualifications
- Significant experience in entity management and corporate governance within complex insurance organizations, including stock and mutual companies, and Lloyds organizations
- Experience drafting and negotiating complex reinsurance contracts, including quota share agreements and catastrophe bonds
- Extensive knowledge of insurance holding company regulations, including licensing, required filings, and financial examination
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams (legal, financial reporting, risk management) and external partners (outside counsel, regulators)
- Experience with legislative and statutory research, monitoring, and developing or revising compliance processes and procedures
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $168,500 - $184,500 per year
- Annual cash incentive payment up to 40% of eligible earnings based on company performance
