Overview

An innovative publicly traded cloud infrastructure and AI compute company is seeking a Senior Corporate Counsel / Associate General Counsel, Disputes (title dependent on experience). This attorney will report directly to the General Counsel and will be responsible for managing the company’s global disputes portfolio. The role involves advising business and legal leaders across the organization and working closely with teams such as Engineering, Product, Sales, Security, Finance, and People.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the company’s global disputes portfolio end to end, including commercial, employment, intellectual property, and non-practicing entity matters.
  • Lead responses to government and regulatory inquiries, including investigations, enforcement actions, subpoenas, preservation and takedown demands, privacy complaints, and law enforcement requests.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to identify potential disputes early and provide practical recommendations balancing legal exposure and business objectives.
  • Advise the People team on employment matters and dispute avoidance; support the commercial team during negotiations and customer escalations involving claims or threats.
  • Counsel executives and the Board on litigation risk, risk tolerance, and emerging legal and regulatory developments.
  • Select and manage outside counsel across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Develop scalable processes, playbooks, and legal hold and discovery practices to support a high-growth global business.

Qualifications

  • Approximately 6–10 years of litigation or disputes experience at a leading law firm, in-house legal department, or both.
  • Proven ability to manage complex commercial disputes independently from early assessment through resolution.
  • Experience managing outside counsel, litigation budgets, discovery, legal holds, and eDiscovery.
  • Strong judgment, ownership, and ability to navigate ambiguity while delivering practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex legal issues into practical business advice.
  • Composure and credibility in high-pressure situations, including interactions with law enforcement, regulators, and opposing counsel.
  • Ability to quickly learn adjacent practice areas and manage multiple high-priority matters in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exposure to employment disputes, internal investigations, or government and regulatory inquiries is a plus.
  • In-house experience supporting enterprise software, cloud services, data centers, artificial intelligence, or cybersecurity is a plus.
  • J.D. and active bar admission required.
  • A combination of law firm and in-house experience is preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range: $240,000 to $275,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • Annual target bonus and equity participation.
  • Fully remote position within the United States.
