Overview
A leading organization in the Consumer Technology sector is seeking a Senior Corporate Counsel Commercial to join their team. This role focuses on providing business-aligned legal guidance related to governance, compliance, and operational risk management. The position involves partnering with leadership, compliance stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate complex legal issues into practical recommendations that support responsible execution, improved decision-making, and sustainable growth within a technology-driven environment.
Location: Remote (US-based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available)
Compensation: $153,000 – $287,000 annually
Responsibilities
- Independently draft and negotiate enterprise-level business and commercial contracts
- Architect and negotiate AI licensing agreements involving data management
- Apply commercial expertise to align legal solutions with business objectives
- Balance speed and legal risk to advance company goals
- Proactively manage deals by anticipating issues and taking initiative
- Demonstrate accountability and resourcefulness in overcoming obstacles
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure effective execution of agreements
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor degree and active state bar membership in good standing
- Minimum of 8 years of legal experience with a focus on complex technology transactions
- Extensive knowledge of SaaS contract law, intellectual property law, and privacy regulation frameworks
- Practical understanding of network architecture and data flows
- Proven experience negotiating complex agreements
- Strong team player with cross-functional collaboration experience
- Ability to effectively balance speed with legal risk
Desired Skills and Experience
- Expertise in SaaS contract law, IP law, and privacy regulations including TCPA, CCPA, CAN-SPAM, CIPA, HIPAA, PCI
- Familiarity with network architecture components such as APIs, MCP servers, data feeds, databases, clients, firewalls, and data wiping protocols
- Experience as in-house counsel
- Knowledge of emerging AI trends and privacy shifts
- Proficiency with negotiation software, contract management tools, business development platforms, legal research tools, and cloud storage solutions
- Understanding of machine learning and AI integration
- Awareness of data security measures related to AI and data licensing
