Overview
This role provides healthcare regulatory guidance to support business growth and day-to-day operations. You will partner with the legal and compliance team and business leaders across the organization to evaluate regulatory risk, deliver clear recommendations, and help teams navigate the healthcare regulatory environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal and regulatory guidance on healthcare matters affecting virtual care delivery and payment
- Advise on professional licensure, scope of practice, and supervision requirements for virtual services
- Support telehealth rule compliance and related operational requirements
- Evaluate and advise on CPOM and MSO/PC structures
- Advise on fraud and abuse issues, including AKS and FCA (and other applicable fraud and abuse laws)
- Support compliance for healthcare marketing and patient communications
- Advise on Medicaid reimbursement requirements
- Work with internal stakeholders to right-size risk and recommend practical next steps
- Provide plain-language explanations of legal rationale so non-lawyer stakeholders can act on guidance
- Manage cross-functional priorities and shifting demands in a fast-paced environment
Requirements
- JD from an ABA accredited law school
- Licensed to practice in at least one state
- Minimum of 7 years of legal experience
- In-house experience at a healthcare company is required
- Startup or high-growth experience is strongly preferred
- Deep experience across federal and state regulations governing how virtual care is delivered and paid for, including:
- Professional licensure
- Scope of practice and supervision requirements
- Telehealth rules
- CPOM and MSO/PC structures
- AKS, FCA, and other fraud and abuse laws
- Healthcare marketing and patient communications rules
- Medicaid reimbursement
- Experience with ERISA and group health plan design, including plan-side requirements associated with health plan and employer partnerships
- Experience supporting a virtual-first or telehealth provider, including launching clinical services in new states
- Experience partnering closely with clinical leadership on clinical model design
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to establish rapport with business leaders
- Meticulous attention to detail and comfort working with ambiguity

Compensation & Benefits
- Expected base salary range: $225,000-$245,000
