Overview

An established global technology services organization is seeking a Senior Corporate Counsel specializing in U.S. Immigration Law to join their Americas Employment & Immigration Law Team. This role focuses on providing strategic legal counsel on business and employment-based immigration matters within a fast-paced, in-house legal environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary legal advisor on all immigration-related inquiries supporting North America immigration practices and policies.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders including a global immigration team, human resources, and executive leadership to guide employee immigration journeys and corporate immigration strategy.
  • Resolve complex legal issues and develop strategic solutions related to immigration law and compliance.
  • Monitor and strengthen compliance with immigration laws and regulations, including overseeing internal audits and reporting.
  • Manage external counsel on immigration-related investigations and claims.
  • Collaborate with government affairs on immigration policy initiatives.
  • Act as the subject matter expert and key partner for North America immigration matters.
  • Opportunity to cross-train on employment legal matters within the broader legal team.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate degree and active membership in good standing with a state bar.
  • Minimum of 8 years of dedicated immigration law experience in law firm and/or in-house settings.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. business and employment visa-related immigration laws, regulations, and procedures.
  • Strong analytical, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent project management skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a geographically distributed global team.
  • Experience handling immigration enforcement matters involving the Department of Labor, USCIS, and other agencies.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without employer-based visa sponsorship (the employer cannot provide sponsorship for this role).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience advising on the intersection of immigration and employment law compliance.
  • In-house experience with global organizations managing significant U.S.-inbound visa volumes.
  • Interest in process improvement and partnering with teams to implement best-in-class compliance practices.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated annual salary range for candidates based in CA, CO, IL, MA, MD, MN, NJ, NY, VT, WA: $180,341 to $210,823.

Location

Preferred location is Richardson, Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW), Texas, but candidates in other locations will be considered.
