Overview

A Senior Corporate Counsel position is available to support the U.S. Vaccines business unit. This role involves providing legal advice and strategic counsel on complex and sensitive legal and business issues, particularly in advertising and promotion, fraud and abuse, competition law, and related areas. The position requires 7+ years of relevant legal experience and offers the opportunity to work from Cambridge, MA or Morristown, NJ, with limited remote work according to the hybrid work policy.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal support to the Vaccines business unit, coordinating assistance across commercial matters and collaborating with other practice areas.
  • Act as legal lead for marketed and investigational vaccines, advising internal teams including commercial, sales, and medical affairs.
  • Manage review and negotiation of contracts and amendments related to the Vaccines business.
  • Handle multiple subject matter issues, identifying and coordinating with appropriate experts as needed.
  • Assist cross-functional stakeholders in compliance with company values and priorities, monitor legislative developments impacting the business, and manage internal and external resources.
  • Exercise independent judgment to prioritize tasks and provide strategic, thorough legal input.
  • Identify potential legal issues, especially in promotional, regulatory, and fraud and abuse areas, and propose risk mitigation solutions.
  • Escalate issues internally and to outside counsel when appropriate.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
  • Valid license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of 7 years of legal experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and other standard corporate software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, FDA or other relevant government agency, or law firm experience with life sciences matters.
