This role requires an active bar license in the State of Texas.
A national litigation firm specializing in insurance defense and trial advocacy is seeking senior attorneys with courtroom confidence, leadership skills, and strategic expertise. The firm is known for its innovative approach to litigation and is expanding nationwide.
Responsibilities
- Develop compelling case themes that surpass plaintiff arguments
- Maintain high standards, refusing to accept mediocrity
- Independently manage court appearances, depositions, briefs, and trials
- Collaborate with team members across experience levels
- Communicate routinely with clients
- Build and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients
- Provide leadership and guidance to less experienced attorneys
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
- Active bar license in Texas
- Minimum of 8 years of litigation experience, including litigation support, deposition, and trial preparation
- Significant civil litigation and trial experience; first- or second-chair trial experience strongly preferred
- Ability to manage full case responsibilities, including discovery and trial
- Experience in insurance defense matters; excess insurance and commercial litigation experience preferred
- Proficiency with time management systems
- Skilled in taking and defending expert depositions
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities for junior attorneys and staff
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Spanish language skills are a plus
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $150,000 to $200,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications
- Annual billable hours bonus starting at $10,000, with additional $7,500 increments for higher tiers
