Overview

A leading global platform in the sharing economy is seeking a Senior Counsel for its Commercial & Partnerships team. This role involves negotiating and drafting sophisticated commercial agreements, providing strategic legal counsel, and building strong client relationships. The position requires a proactive, business-oriented legal professional who thrives in fast-paced, collaborative environments.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple high-value commercial deals simultaneously, overseeing negotiations from term sheet to close.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve legal, regulatory, and strategic risks related to commercial agreements and product development.
  • Collaborate with business development, finance, product, and other cross-functional teams to address complex challenges and advance deal objectives.
  • Develop processes and procedures to support a rapidly growing, global business.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
  • Licensed attorney in good standing with the bar of at least one U.S. state or territory.
  • 10-15+ years of significant commercial legal experience.
  • At least 5+ years leading and closing high-value strategic partnerships, including co-marketing programs, loyalty integrations, and distribution deals with major consumer brands across travel, retail, services, and fintech sectors.
  • Proven experience negotiating and drafting commercial partnerships from term sheet to execution across diverse industries and deal structures.
  • Transactional training at a top-tier law firm with experience advising on complex, high-value commercial matters.
  • Experience working with or representing technology companies is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of data privacy and security frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) as they apply to commercial agreements, including data sharing, processing, and licensing provisions.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex, high-stakes projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-growth environment without sacrificing quality.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to navigate ambiguity, and confidence in handling novel deal structures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Collaborative, approachable, and able to build trust quickly with business clients.
  • Highly motivated, efficient, and organized.
  • Positive attitude with a good sense of humor and a focus on getting things done.
  • Passion for travel and home sharing is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in expanding the scope of legal practice.
  • Experience working closely with high-growth business development teams.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range: $210,000—$258,000 USD.
  • Eligibility for bonus, equity, benefits, and employee travel credits.

Location

  • This is a US-based remote-eligible position.
  • Candidates must reside in a U.S. state where the employer has a registered entity.
  • Occasional work at an office or attendance at offsite meetings may be required, as agreed with management.
