Overview
This Senior Counsel role provides legal counsel on matters related to a pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) and pharmacy services, including regulatory compliance; contract drafting, negotiation, and management; and risk management.
Work focuses on supporting the organization’s internal PBM and pharmacy initiatives, including:
- Contract negotiations with pharmaceutical manufacturers
- ERISA self-funded employee welfare benefit plans
Responsibilities
- Provide legal support for strategic initiatives, including contract negotiations with pharmaceutical manufacturers and ERISA self-funded employee welfare benefit plans.
- Provide legal guidance on federal and state regulatory compliance.
- Advise on risk exposure, mitigation strategies, and legal implications of commercial initiatives.
- Monitor and interpret legislative and regulatory changes.
- Support audits, investigations, and responses to regulatory inquiries.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate degree from a ABA accredited school law school
- 10 years of experience
- Active membership in a state bar association
- Strong legal writing and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently under general supervision and in team settings
- Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Preferred Qualifications
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $168,000 - $231,000 per year
- Eligible for a bonus incentive plan, based on company and/or individual performance.

Location
Remote position with the following requirements:
- Work at Home Requirements: Self-provided internet service must meet a minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps. Wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.
- In certain roles, the minimum recommended internet speed required by the organization may not be sufficient for business needs; the organization reserves the right to require associates to upgrade their internet service if necessary.
- Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.
Travel:
- Occasional travel to the organization’s offices for training or meetings may be required.
