Overview
This role is for a senior attorney to join a growing civil defense practice with a focus on insurance defense and trial advocacy. The position requires an active bar license in the State of California.
Responsibilities
- Develop a case theme designed to effectively counter plaintiff arguments
- Handle matters independently, including court appearances, depositions, briefs, and trials
- Manage litigation as part of a team with attorneys at all experience levels
- Communicate routinely with clients
- Cultivate relationships with existing and future clients
- Provide leadership and direction for less experienced attorneys
Requirements
- J.D. from an ABA approved school
- Active license in your state (California bar license required)
- 8+ years of solid litigation experience, specifically with litigation support, deposition, and trial preparation
- Ability to manage full case handling responsibilities, including all facets of discovery and trial
- Ability to think and act independently with minimal supervision
- Experience handling insurance defense matters preferred
- Experience with time management systems
- Proficiency in MS Suite, specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Outstanding listening, verbal, and written communication skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor

Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $160,000–$190,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications
- Annual billable hours bonus: $10,000, then aggregating with $7,500 for every additional tier
