Overview
A national litigation firm specializing in insurance defense is seeking a General Liability Insurance Defense Litigation and Insurance Coverage Attorney licensed to practice in California. This senior role involves leading high-exposure general liability cases and insurance coverage matters with autonomy and strategic insight.
Responsibilities
- Develop compelling case themes and strategies to counter plaintiff arguments
- Maintain high standards in all aspects of legal practice
- Independently handle court appearances, depositions, briefs, and trials
- Collaborate with attorneys at various experience levels
- Maintain regular communication with clients
- Cultivate and maintain client relationships
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior attorneys
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
- Active bar license in the State of California
- Minimum of 8 years of litigation experience in general liability insurance defense and insurance coverage
- Proven ability to manage full case responsibilities including discovery and trial
- Strong experience with insurance defense cases, particularly general liability and coverage issues
- Proficiency with time management systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor

Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $160,000 to $190,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications
- Annual billable hours bonus starting at $10,000, with additional bonuses of $7,500 for each tier exceeded
