Overview
This role is for a health tech legal specialist with deep expertise in health tech law, developed through years of client work. The position involves applying that knowledge in a focused practice dedicated to healthcare and health technology legal matters.

Responsibilities
Client Work
- Serve as the primary legal advisor for health tech clients on healthcare-related legal needs, including HIPAA compliance, health data privacy, FDA and digital health regulatory issues.
- Review and negotiate Business Associate Agreements (BAAs) and other healthcare-specific contracts such as vendor and data-sharing agreements.
- Act as a subject matter expert for both clients and internal attorneys on healthcare and health tech legal questions.
Knowledge Development
- Review, revise, and improve BAA and healthcare contract templates and standard documents.
- Build and maintain a healthcare and health tech precedent library reflecting current best practices and integrate it into internal systems.
- Develop training materials and lead sessions for attorneys encountering healthcare questions in their broader work.
- Contribute practical healthcare guidance to internal knowledge databases beyond legal citations.
Requirements
Background & Experience
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school with active bar membership in good standing.
- Minimum of 8 years of focused experience in healthcare regulatory and health tech transactional work.
- Experience working at a top-tier law firm, in-house health tech role, or regulatory agency is preferred.
- Hands-on experience drafting and negotiating BAAs and other healthcare-specific contracts.
- Comprehensive knowledge of HIPAA, FDA, and digital health regulatory frameworks with up-to-date awareness.
- Strong enthusiasm for teaching and sharing knowledge.
- Ability to work effectively with attorneys at all experience levels.
- Clear and confident communication skills, capable of translating complex regulations into practical guidance.

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary for full-time: $200,000 - $240,000 per year.
- Contractor rate: $100 - $115 per hour.
