Overview
A leading organization in the Media sector is seeking a Senior Counsel to provide business-aligned legal guidance focused on governance, compliance, and operational risk management. This role involves partnering with leaders, compliance stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate complex legal issues into practical recommendations that support responsible execution, improve decision-making, and foster sustainable growth.
Location: Remote (US-based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available)
Compensation: $130,000 – $180,000 annually
Responsibilities
- Support various business units with diverse legal needs
- Develop and enhance processes for the Legal and Compliance department
- Advocate for the department's vision to ensure compliance with legal obligations
- Identify complex legal issues and propose effective solutions
- Monitor and guide compliance with evolving data privacy legislation
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of legal experience, preferably with a focus on privacy and cybersecurity
- Experience analyzing a range of legal documents, from simple contracts to major agreements
- Ability to influence decision-making at multiple organizational levels
- Proficiency in understanding complex business and technical concepts
- Creative problem-solving skills with a focus on stakeholder needs
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Familiarity with macOS and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
- Knowledge of privacy law, advertising law, and cybersecurity practices
- Experience with data protection tools, compliance management systems, and contract management software
