Overview
A national litigation firm specializing in insurance defense is seeking experienced senior attorneys to join their team. This role involves leading high-exposure cases with autonomy and strategic insight, contributing to the firm’s growth and reputation for results-driven representation.
Responsibilities
- Develop compelling case themes that surpass plaintiff arguments
- Maintain high standards, rejecting mediocrity in all aspects of work
- Independently manage court appearances, depositions, briefs, and trials
- Collaborate effectively with team members across experience levels
- Communicate routinely with clients
- Build and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients
- Provide leadership and mentorship to less experienced attorneys
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
- Active bar license in the State of California
- Minimum of 8 years of litigation experience, including litigation support, deposition, and trial preparation
- Proven ability to manage full case handling responsibilities, including discovery and trial
- Experience in insurance defense matters preferred
- Familiarity with time management systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership in managing litigation teams
- Experience mentoring junior attorneys
- Strong courtroom presence and strategic thinking
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $160,000 to $190,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications
- Annual billable hours bonus starting at $10,000, with additional bonuses of $7,500 for each higher tier
