Overview
This senior attorney position involves independently handling complex civil litigation matters with a defense mindset, including courtroom appearances, depositions, briefs, and trials. The role also includes routine client communication and providing leadership and direction to less experienced attorneys.

Responsibilities
- Develop persuasive case themes for litigation
- Maintain high standards and refuse to accept mediocrity
- Independently handle court appearances, depositions, briefs, and trials
- Work collaboratively with attorneys at all experience levels
- Perform routine communications with clients
- Cultivate relationships with existing and future clients
- Provide leadership and direction for less experienced attorneys and staff
Requirements
- JD from an ABA approved school
- Must be licensed in your state (active bar license in the State of Texas is required)
- 8+ years of solid litigation experience, specifically with litigation support, deposition and trial preparation
- Significant civil litigation and trial experience (first- or second-chair experience strongly preferred)
- Ability to manage full case handling responsibilities, including all facets of discovery and trial
- Experience handling insurance defense matters (excess insurance space/commercial litigation experience preferred)
- Experience with time management systems
- Skilled in taking and defending expert depositions
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor junior attorneys and staff
- Proficiency in MS Suite, specifically Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Ability to think and act independently with minimal supervision
- Outstanding listening, verbal, and written communication skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Spanish-speaking ability is a plus
Preferred Qualifications
- First- or second-chair experience
- Excess insurance space and/or commercial litigation experience
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $150,000–$200,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications
- Annual billable hours bonus: $10,000, then aggregating with $7,500 for every additional tier
