Overview

A leading organization in the Business Services sector is seeking a Senior Counsel Litigation & Disputes to provide business-aligned legal guidance focused on governance, compliance, and operational risk management. This role involves partnering with leaders, compliance stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate complex legal issues into practical recommendations that support responsible execution, improve decision-making, and foster sustainable growth.

Location: Remote (US-based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available)

Compensation: $205,200 – $256,500 annually

Responsibilities

  • Manage the entire litigation portfolio from initial stages through resolution
  • Serve as the primary liaison with outside counsel, overseeing engagement and cost management
  • Develop and maintain litigation infrastructure, including tracking systems and guidelines
  • Collaborate with internal teams on data retention and compliance matters
  • Provide actionable legal risk guidance to cross-functional teams
  • Analyze litigation data to identify and escalate systemic risks to leadership
  • Support the legal team on commercial disputes related to customer and vendor agreements
  • Oversee discovery processes, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of litigation experience, especially in complex commercial, data privacy, or employment disputes
  • Proven ability to manage outside counsel within budget and strategic parameters
  • Familiarity with litigation issues involving data privacy laws such as CCPA and GDPR
  • Strong skills in translating complex legal concepts into practical advice for non-legal audiences
  • Excellent communication skills for preparing clear updates and guidance
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities to handle multiple litigation matters simultaneously
  • Experience developing litigation infrastructure and procedures is a plus
  • Adaptable to rapidly changing environments with broad responsibilities
  • Interest in understanding company products and data practices
  • Comfortable using AI tools to enhance legal processes

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of litigation management software (e.g., Relativity, Everlaw)
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello)
  • Proficiency with e-discovery tools (e.g., Logikcull, Westlaw)
  • Familiarity with artificial intelligence tools for legal research and workflow efficiency
  • Experience with document management and risk assessment systems
