Overview

This role is for a senior attorney to support insurance defense and trial advocacy work within a national litigation practice. The position involves leading high-exposure matters, managing full case responsibilities, and serving as a leader for less experienced attorneys.

An active bar license in the State of New Mexico is required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and drive a case theme aligned with defense strategy
  • Handle court appearances, depositions, briefs, and trials independently
  • Manage full case handling responsibilities, including all facets of discovery and trial
  • Communicate routinely with clients
  • Collaborate with attorneys at all levels on case strategy and execution
  • Provide leadership and direction to less experienced attorneys
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and future clients

Requirements

  • JD from an ABA approved school
  • Must be licensed in your state (active bar license in the State of New Mexico is required)
  • 8+ years of solid litigation experience, specifically with litigation support, deposition and trial preparation
  • Experience handling discovery and trial preparation responsibilities
  • Experience with time management systems
  • Proficiency in MS Suite, specifically Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Ability to think and act independently with minimal supervision
  • Outstanding listening, verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional appearance and demeanor

  • Experience handling insurance defense matters

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $140,000 - 170,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications
  • Annual billable hours bonus: $10,000 plus an additional $7,500 for every additional tier
