Overview
This role involves managing and overseeing claims related to Healthcare Liability lines, with a focus on Hospitals and exposure to Senior Care and Miscellaneous Medical Facilities. The position also provides internal support across the organization for all matters related to Healthcare Liability Claims. It reports to the Head of Healthcare Claims.
Responsibilities
- Manage all claims in accordance with claims department service standards
- Oversee setting reserves and resolution of claims
- Review and analyze complex coverage issues and prepare coverage position letters
- Investigate, analyze, and evaluate liability and damage assessments
- Develop and execute claims strategies through to resolution
- Direct and manage assignments with defense and coverage counsel
- Maintain claims guidelines and implement best practices
- Assist underwriters with prospective business opportunities, claims trends, data analysis, and risk assessment
- Prepare reports on potential exposure for company management
- Maintain constructive working relationships with insured parties, brokers, and agents
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years relevant claims experience
- Prior management experience preferred
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree preferred
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent written and oral communication abilities
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $150,000 to $175,000, depending on experience
- Bonus opportunities available
