Overview

A legal and compliance team is seeking a Senior Counsel to support the partner ecosystem, a key growth driver for the business. This role involves partnering with Ecosystem and Partner Programs teams to develop legal frameworks that enable partners to scale safely and effectively. The position focuses on shaping commercial programs, negotiating complex technology agreements, and addressing legal challenges related to disruptive technology and a rapidly evolving ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with ecosystem leadership and cross-functional teams to provide legal support to Go-to-Market (GTM) business units, including Partner Programs, Partner Sales, Partner Marketing, and Enablement.
  • Lead partner program initiatives, maintain and update program legal frameworks, negotiate technology transactions, and advise on deal structures.
  • Review, draft, and negotiate complex commercial and technology agreements with enterprise partners, including strategic partnership agreements, intellectual property licenses, and data privacy agreements.
  • Provide practical legal guidance on building and evolving partner programs and associated legal frameworks.
  • Assist in developing overall strategy for the GTM legal practice area.
  • Work with a team of legal professionals to support the growing ecosystem, channel, and GTM teams.
  • Develop guidance and resources for consistent and scalable legal support in partnership with partner programs leadership.
  • Collaborate with other business and legal teams such as Product, Privacy, Security, Compliance, Vendor Management, Commercial Transactions, Risk, Finance, and Marketing to align guidance and assess risks and opportunities.

Requirements

  • Qualified to practice law in Ireland and/or the United Kingdom.
  • 4-6 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in an in-house technology company.
  • Experience working with partner, sales, and marketing teams, providing practical legal guidance on partner programs and legal frameworks.
  • Proficient in reviewing and negotiating technology contracts and capable of independently managing negotiation processes.
  • Familiarity with SaaS distribution, reseller, and partner programs, including pricing structures, order management, and channel roles and responsibilities.
  • Working knowledge of global privacy and data protection laws and frameworks, with the ability to identify issues and provide business-oriented guidance; know when to escalate to Privacy specialists.
  • Foundational understanding of intellectual property protection and management related to channels and partners is a plus.
  • Ability to handle a broad range of strategic matters efficiently in a fast-paced, transparent environment.
  • Strong decision-making skills and ability to explain rationale clearly to non-legal stakeholders.
  • Ability to build trust-based relationships with team members.
  • Effective at managing high volumes of tasks and prioritizing projects.
  • Adaptable to ambiguous and rapidly changing environments with a strong desire to learn.
  • Clear and practical communication skills.
  • Superior organizational and project management skills.
  • Fluency in English.
