Overview

A leading enterprise AI company specializing in security-first foundation AI models and end-to-end products is seeking a Senior Counsel, Product and Technology. This role involves shaping the legal framework for product development and commercialization, providing strategic guidance on intellectual property, technology transactions, and regulatory compliance to support efficient market entry and risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop standardized templates, playbooks, and guidelines for product contract terms to enhance efficiency and consistency.
  • Provide strategic advice on intellectual property risks across the product portfolio, including open source software compliance and third-party software integration.
  • Identify and mitigate legal risks throughout the product lifecycle, collaborating with regulatory and commercial counsel.
  • Coordinate legal input ahead of product launches, working with internal and external legal teams.
  • Partner with product managers, engineers, and business development teams to provide early legal guidance on product design, feature development, and market strategy.
  • Monitor relevant technology regulations and assess their impact on product development and commercialization.
  • Advise internal teams on key legal considerations related to product development and commercialization.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of legal experience, with significant in-house or law firm experience in technology transactions and product counseling.
  • Admission to practice law in the US, Canada, UK, or EU.
  • Proven expertise in technology contracts, intellectual property law, and commercial agreements.
  • Experience advising enterprise software companies across various deployment models including SaaS, Cloud, and On-premises.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, product roadmaps, and technology integration.
  • Experience with open source software compliance and third-party technology integration.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with technical and business teams.
  • Deep understanding of AI/ML technologies and platforms.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced technology environment, adapting to shifting priorities and ambiguity.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range for candidates in New York, California, and Washington States: $275,000 – $330,000 USD.
  • Salary range for candidates in other US states: $265,000 – $320,000 USD.
  • Weekly lunch stipend of $75 (or equivalent local currency).
