Overview
A leading organization in the Finance & Insurance sector is seeking a Senior Counsel Product Legal to join their team. This role involves providing strategic legal support throughout the product life cycle, collaborating cross-functionally, and addressing complex legal challenges related to technology products in the fintech and crypto space. The position offers remote work for US-based candidates only (no visa sponsorship) with a competitive annual compensation range of $224,995 to $264,700.
Responsibilities
- Support the Developer business as part of the product legal team
- Provide day-to-day strategic and legal advice to product teams
- Counsel on legal matters throughout the product life cycle, from ideation to launch and beyond
- Address domestic and international legal issues on a global scale
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments to resolve complex legal challenges
- Respond promptly to sophisticated legal inquiries with practical advice
- Take ownership of specific legal practice areas and proactively engage with product teams
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent degree
- Licensed to practice law in a U.S. state
- Minimum of 7 years of legal experience, preferably in-house with technology, fintech, or cryptocurrency companies
- Experience counseling product teams on launching technology products with a strong understanding of relevant legal regulations
- Familiarity with global laws and regulations related to payments, fintech, and cryptocurrencies
- Strong interest in digital currency, blockchain technology, and web3 applications
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Sound legal judgment with the ability to balance creativity and pragmatism
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with B2B product development and technology infrastructure
- Knowledge of crypto regulations and financial technology compliance
- Understanding of data privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA
- Familiarity with the product development life cycle
- Experience with decentralized applications (dApps) and web3 concepts
