Overview
This role involves providing legal counsel on complex, cross-functional matters with a focus on senior-focused primary care operations. The Senior Counsel will perform sophisticated legal analysis and communicate effectively with business partners and stakeholders to guide new programs and initiatives. The position supports primary care operations that deliver quality, affordable, personalized care across multiple states.
Responsibilities
- Advise on, draft, and negotiate value-based arrangements including payer, specialist, vendor, and hybrid agreements.
- Collaborate with clinical teams on affiliation agreements and similar arrangements within clinic environments.
- Assist with contract arrangements related to acquisitions, pilot programs, and other clinical initiatives.
- Consult with company leaders to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations and mitigate external risks.
- Exercise independent judgment on complex legal issues and manage end-to-end work with minimal supervision.
Requirements
- Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Minimum of 5 years of legal experience in the healthcare industry, including direct counseling of healthcare providers.
- Active membership in a state bar association.
- Strong legal writing and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently under general supervision and collaboratively in team settings.
- Experience working in complex organizations and engaging with clients at all levels, including senior leadership.
- Commitment to improving consumer experiences in healthcare.
Additional Information
- This is a remote position; however, occasional travel to company offices for training or meetings may be required.
- Employees working from home must have internet service with at least 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speeds. Wired or wireless cable or DSL connections are preferred; satellite, cellular, and microwave connections require leadership approval.
- Employees working remotely in California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota may receive a bi-weekly internet expense payment.
- A dedicated, interruption-free workspace is required to protect member PHI and comply with HIPAA regulations.
Compensation & Benefits
- Scheduled weekly hours: 40
- Salary range: $168,000 - $231,000 per year, varying by location and individual qualifications.
- Eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on company and individual performance.
