Overview

A leading organization in the healthcare sector is seeking a Senior Counsel, Regulatory & Compliance to join their team. This role involves driving significant impact across key initiatives by partnering cross-functionally to deliver measurable outcomes. The position offers the opportunity to influence both strategy and execution within a high-growth environment.

Location: Remote (U.S. based candidates only; no visa sponsorship available)

Compensation: $175,800 – $206,800 annually

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advisory on healthcare regulatory issues affecting product design and compliance
  • Counsel product development teams to ensure adherence to regulatory standards
  • Oversee regulatory reviews and coordinate with external legal counsel for market expansions
  • Analyze legislative changes that may impact business objectives and regulatory compliance
  • Serve as the privacy advisor to ensure compliance with healthcare and global privacy laws
  • Develop systems to operationalize privacy protections during product launches
  • Draft policies related to AI governance, emphasizing responsible and compliant data use

Requirements

  • 8-10 years of experience in healthcare regulatory, privacy, product counseling, or compliance within a regulated environment
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from a top-tier law school with valid bar admission
  • Strong expertise in U.S. healthcare regulations such as ERISA, ACA, and anti-kickback laws
  • Knowledge of privacy laws including HIPAA and GDPR, with an understanding of their impact on healthcare products
  • Experience guiding product launches in digital health or technology settings
  • Familiarity with AI/ML legal frameworks and compliance requirements
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with both technical and non-technical teams

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA, ERISA, ACA
  • Experience with AI governance frameworks and machine learning models
  • Familiarity with privacy impact assessment tools and data governance frameworks
  • Experience using compliance management software
  • Understanding of Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
