Overview

A healthcare organization is seeking a Senior Counsel Regulatory - Pharmacy Services to provide business-aligned legal guidance focused on governance, compliance, and operational risk management. This role involves partnering with leaders, compliance stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate complex regulatory issues into practical recommendations. The position supports responsible execution, improved decision-making, and sustainable growth within a healthcare environment.

Location: Remote (US-based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available)

Compensation: $177,100 – $295,100 annually

Responsibilities

  • Serve as lead counsel for Board of Pharmacy complaints and inspections
  • Review and approve regulatory responses and advise on escalation risks
  • Partner with compliance teams to identify trends
  • Advise on pharmacy licensure and operational compliance
  • Support audits, inspections, and regulatory inquiries
  • Lead legal analysis of shared services and centralized pharmacy models
  • Provide legal interpretations of new pharmacy legislation

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership
  • Minimum of 8 years of legal experience in healthcare or regulatory law
  • Experience with pharmacy regulatory matters, including enforcement actions
  • Preferred knowledge of pharmaceutical supply chain and pharmacy operations
  • Familiarity with Board of Pharmacy matters and 340B regulatory frameworks preferred
  • Strong analytical and communication skills to translate legal requirements
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and manage multiple priorities

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience with REMS or similar regulatory frameworks
  • Pharm.D. or other clinical/pharmacy background
  • Proficiency with legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis)
  • Experience with compliance management software (e.g., ComplyAdvantage)
  • Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Familiarity with risk management platforms (e.g., RSA Archer)
  • Experience with stakeholder management tools
