Overview

This position is for a senior attorney with significant insurance defense and trial preparation experience. An active bar license in the State of California is required. The role involves independent handling of litigation matters, client communication, and providing leadership to less experienced attorneys.

Responsibilities

  • Develop case themes and litigation strategies aimed at securing favorable outcomes
  • Handle court appearances, depositions, briefs, and trials independently
  • Manage routine communications with clients
  • Collaborate with attorneys at all experience levels
  • Provide leadership and direction for less experienced attorneys
  • Cultivate relationships with current and prospective clients
  • Manage full case handling responsibilities, including all facets of discovery and trial

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA approved school
  • Must be licensed in the State of California
  • 8+ years of solid litigation experience, specifically with litigation support, deposition and trial preparation
  • Experience managing full case handling responsibilities, including all facets of discovery and trial
  • Ability to think and act independently with minimal supervision
  • Outstanding listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Experience with time management systems
  • Proficiency in MS Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Experience handling insurance defense matters

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $160,000–$190,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications
  • Annual billable hours bonus: $10,000, then aggregating with $7,500 for every additional tier
