Overview
This role is for an experienced litigation attorney to join the Northern California team. The position is based out of the Novato office and supports matters throughout Northern California and the greater San Francisco Bay Area.
An active California Bar license is required.
Responsibilities
- Develop a case theme and strategy for complex litigation.
- Independently handle court appearances, depositions, briefs, and trials.
- Manage full case handling responsibilities, including discovery and trial preparation.
- Take and defend depositions.
- Prepare matters for trial and make decisions that move cases toward the best possible outcome.
- Provide routine communications with clients.
- Cultivate relationships with current and prospective clients.
- Work as part of a team with attorneys across experience levels.
- Provide leadership and direction to less experienced attorneys.
Requirements
- JD from an ABA approved school.
- Must be licensed in the State of California.
- 8+ years of solid litigation experience, specifically including litigation support, deposition, and trial preparation.
- Ability to manage full case handling responsibilities, including all facets of discovery and trial.
- Experience handling insurance defense matters preferred.
- Experience with time management systems.
- Proficiency in MS Suite, specifically Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Ability to think and act independently with minimal supervision.
- Outstanding listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
Preferred Qualifications
- Substantive civil litigation experience, including plaintiff-side, criminal, construction, professional liability, or other complex litigation.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $160,000–$190,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
- Annual billable hours bonus: $10,000 plus $7,500 for every additional tier.

- Attorneys who consistently come in at least twice a week can establish a permanent office space.
