Overview
A law firm is seeking a Senior Counsel to join their Fresno, CA office. This role involves handling complex, high-exposure litigation matters including general liability, construction defect, toxic tort, and class action cases. The position offers flexibility in work arrangements (remote, hybrid, or in-office) and emphasizes collaboration, trial experience, and leadership development.
Responsibilities
- Develop compelling case themes that surpass plaintiff arguments
- Maintain high standards, refusing to accept mediocrity
- Independently manage court appearances, depositions, briefs, and trials
- Collaborate with attorneys at all experience levels
- Communicate routinely with clients
- Cultivate and maintain client relationships
- Provide leadership and guidance to less experienced attorneys
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
- Active California Bar license required
- Minimum of 8 years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense or civil litigation
- Proven ability to manage full case handling responsibilities, including discovery and trial preparation
- Experience with litigation support, depositions, and trial preparation
- Proficiency with time management systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Strong independent thinking and minimal supervision required
- Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor

Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $160,000 to $190,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications
- Annual billable hours bonus starting at $10,000, with additional bonuses of $7,500 per tier
