Overview
The organization is seeking an experienced Florida defense attorney to join a busy litigation team handling sophisticated, high-exposure matters throughout Central Florida.
Please note: An active Florida Bar license is required for this position.
This role is well-suited for an attorney with a strong foundation in litigation who wants to sharpen skills through close collaboration with experienced trial attorneys and meaningful exposure to case strategy and trial preparation.
Responsibilities
- Develop persuasive case themes and litigation strategy
- Handle court appearances, depositions, briefs, and trials independently
- Manage assignments and advance cases with attention to quality and detail
- Participate in team-based work across all levels of experience
- Conduct routine communications with clients
- Cultivate relationships with current and prospective clients
- Provide leadership and direction to less experienced attorneys
Requirements
- JD from an ABA approved school
- Must be licensed in your state
- 8+ years of solid litigation experience, specifically with litigation support, deposition and trial preparation
- Ability to manage full case handling responsibilities, including all facets of discovery and trial
- Experience handling insurance defense matters preferred
- Experience with time management systems
- Proficiency in MS Suite, specifically Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Ability to think and act independently with minimal supervision
- Outstanding listening, verbal, and written communication skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor
Preferred Qualifications
- Trial experience highly valued
- Law Review or another demonstrated record of exceptional legal research and writing
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $150,000 - $190,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications
- Annual billable hours bonus: $10,000, then aggregating with $7,500 for every additional tier
