Overview
This role is for a senior insurance defense litigation attorney position with an emphasis on trial advocacy, strategic case development, and leadership on high-exposure matters. The organization is seeking an accomplished attorney who is comfortable handling litigation from start to finish and leading teams in court.
Please note: An active bar license in the State of California is required.
Responsibilities
- Develop a case theme that is more compelling than any plaintiff argument for sympathy or anger
- Handle litigation matters independently, including court appearances, depositions, briefs, and trials
- Manage full case handling responsibilities, including all facets of discovery and trial
- Communicate routinely with clients
- Work effectively as part of a team across all levels of experience
- Cultivate relationships with existing and future clients
- Provide leadership and direction to less experienced attorneys
- Refuse to accept mediocrity, the average, the standard, or the norm in anything
Requirements
- JD from an ABA approved school
- Must be licensed in the State of California
- 8+ years of solid litigation experience, specifically with litigation support, deposition and trial preparation
- Experience with litigation teams and mentoring junior attorneys
- Experience handling insurance defense matters preferred
- Experience handling insurance defense matters preferred
- Ability to manage full case handling responsibilities, including all facets of discovery and trial
- Ability to think and act independently and with minimal supervision
- Experience with time management systems
- Proficiency in MS Suite, specifically Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Outstanding listening, verbal and written communication skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor

Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $160,000–$190,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications
- Annual billable hours bonus ranging from $10,000, then aggregating with $7,500 for every additional tier
