Overview
This role is for an experienced litigating attorney to help establish and grow an Inland Empire presence, with plans to establish a future office in Redlands.
An active California Bar license is required.
As the office builds its team, the organization is seeking Senior Counsel-level attorneys who can handle cases independently, take on trusted leadership responsibilities, and contribute to shaping the future office and teams around them.
Responsibilities
- Independently handle court appearances, depositions, briefs, and trials
- Develop a case strategy and case theme
- Manage full case handling responsibilities, including discovery and trial preparation
- Communicate routinely with clients
- Cultivate relationships with existing and future clients
- Work effectively as part of a team across all levels of experience
- Provide leadership and direction with respect to less experienced attorneys
Requirements
- JD from an ABA approved school
- Must be licensed in your state
- 8+ years of solid litigation experience, specifically with litigation support, deposition and trial preparation
- Ability to manage full case handling responsibilities, including all facets of discovery and trial
- Experience handling insurance defense matters preferred
- Experience with time management systems
- Proficiency in MS Suite, specifically Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Ability to think and act independently and with minimal supervision
- Outstanding listening, verbal, and written communication skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor
Preferred Qualifications
- First- or second-chair trial experience (particularly valuable)
- Backgrounds in medical malpractice, professional liability, construction defect, and related defense practices
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $160,000–$190,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications
- Annual billable hours bonus ranging from $10,000, then aggregating with $7,500 for every additional tier

- Inland Empire (cases predominantly based throughout the Inland Empire)

- Attorneys may handle matters outside the immediate region as well
