Overview
This role is designed for legal specialists who have developed deep expertise in one of several key practice areas through years of client work. The position involves handling client matters within your specialty and contributing to the development of institutional resources such as form agreements, precedent libraries, and training programs to enhance the skills of other attorneys.
The organization is an AI-native law firm focused on delivering high-quality commercial contract work efficiently by combining experienced U.S.-barred attorneys with AI-driven workflows. This approach eliminates billable hours and unnecessary processes, allowing attorneys to focus on judgment, negotiation, and client advising.
Responsibilities
Client Work
- Provide expert legal advice within your specialty, reflecting current laws and practical experience
- Review and negotiate agreements involving significant regulatory or compliance issues
- Act as a subject matter expert for both clients and internal attorneys
Knowledge Development
- Review and improve standard contracts and documents in your practice area
- Build and maintain precedent libraries that incorporate best practices
- Develop training materials and lead sessions for attorneys working with your specialty
- Contribute practical guidance to internal knowledge databases beyond legal citations
Practice Areas
The role is open to specialists in one or more of the following verticals:
- Data Privacy & Security (e.g., GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, HIPAA, cross-border data transfers, privacy program counseling, DPAs, incident response)
- Financial Regulatory (e.g., banking and lending regulation, payments, FinTech, broker-dealer, investment adviser, BSA/AML compliance)
- Healthcare Regulatory (e.g., HIPAA, FDA, federal and state healthcare compliance, digital health, clinical research, reimbursement and coverage)
- Employment Law (e.g., federal and state employment compliance, restrictive covenants, executive compensation, workplace investigations, HR counseling)
Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited law school with active bar membership in good standing
- Deep, focused experience in one or more of the specified practice areas, ideally including experience at a top-tier law firm, a leading in-house role, or a regulatory agency
- Comprehensive and current knowledge of your specialty
- Enthusiasm for teaching and sharing knowledge with others
- Ability to work effectively with attorneys at all experience levels
- Strong communication skills capable of translating complex regulatory issues into practical advice
Engagement Options
- Full-time employment
- Part-time employment with pro-rated compensation
- Contract arrangements for those maintaining an independent practice
All engagement types receive equal access to substantive work and integration with the team.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $200,000 - $300,000 per year, pro-rated for part-time roles
