Overview
A leading organization in the Business Services sector is seeking a Senior Counsel Transactions (Capital Markets) to join their team. This role focuses on providing business-aligned legal guidance related to governance, compliance, and operational risk management. The position involves partnering with leaders, compliance stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate complex legal and business issues into practical recommendations. The role supports responsible execution, improved decision-making, and sustainable growth within a Business Services environment.
Location
- Remote (US-based candidates only; no visa sponsorship available)
Compensation
- $230,000 – $297,500 annually
Responsibilities
- Serve as a legal partner to the capital markets business development team
- Structure, negotiate, and draft complex agreements related to crypto and fintech
- Support capital markets go-to-market strategies by negotiating with partners
- Develop contract templates and playbooks to streamline transactional processes
- Implement efficient contracting workflows to enhance legal service delivery
- Assist business leaders with contract management and interpretation
- Stay current on crypto developments to provide practical transactional advice
Qualifications
- 10+ years of legal experience in capital markets, crypto, or financial services
- 3+ years of experience at a top-tier law firm
- J.D. (or foreign equivalent) with active membership in at least one U.S. State Bar
- Extensive experience drafting and negotiating complex crypto and capital markets agreements
- Familiarity with traditional finance (TradFi) capital markets concepts and their intersection with digital assets
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams on institutional partnerships
- Comfortable leveraging AI tools to improve workflow efficiency
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience with ISDA documentation and capital markets framework agreements
- Prior experience working with regulatory bodies such as the Monetary Authority of Singapore and the Financial Supervisory Service
- Knowledge of cryptocurrency regulations and blockchain technology
- Experience with digital asset management systems
- Familiarity with AI tools for legal processes, including contract automation
- Proficiency with financial modeling software, such as Excel for derivatives models
