Overview

A national litigation firm specializing in insurance defense is seeking experienced senior attorneys to join their team. The firm is recognized for its innovative approach to trial advocacy and is expanding nationwide. This role offers the opportunity to lead high-exposure cases with autonomy and to contribute to the firm's growth and success.

Note: An active bar license in the State of California is required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop compelling case themes that effectively counter plaintiff strategies
  • Maintain high standards of excellence, refusing to accept mediocrity
  • Independently manage court appearances, depositions, briefs, and trials
  • Collaborate with team members across all experience levels
  • Communicate routinely with clients
  • Build and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to less experienced attorneys

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Active bar license in California
  • Minimum of 8 years of solid litigation experience, including litigation support, deposition, and trial preparation
  • Proven ability to manage full case handling responsibilities, including discovery and trial
  • Experience in insurance defense matters preferred
  • Familiarity with time management systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Professional appearance and demeanor

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated leadership in managing litigation teams
  • Experience mentoring junior attorneys
  • Strong strategic thinking and courtroom presence

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range: $160,000 to $190,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications
  • Annual billable hours bonus starting at $10,000, with additional bonuses of $7,500 for each subsequent tier
