Overview
A national litigation firm specializing in insurance defense is seeking senior attorneys with courtroom confidence, leadership skills, and strategic expertise. This role involves managing high-exposure cases, mentoring junior attorneys, and contributing to the firm’s growth and success.
Note: An active bar license in the State of Connecticut is required.
Responsibilities
- Develop compelling case themes that surpass plaintiff arguments
- Maintain high standards and refuse to accept mediocrity
- Independently handle court appearances, depositions, briefs, and trials
- Collaborate with team members across experience levels
- Communicate routinely with clients
- Cultivate and maintain client relationships
- Provide leadership and guidance to less experienced attorneys
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
- Active bar license in your state (Connecticut license required)
- Minimum of 8 years of litigation experience, including litigation support, deposition, and trial preparation
- Ability to manage full case responsibilities, including discovery and trial
- Experience in insurance defense matters preferred
- Familiarity with time management systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven experience managing litigation teams and mentoring junior attorneys
- Strong courtroom presence and strategic thinking
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $150,000 to $200,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications
- Annual billable hours bonus starting at $10,000, with additional bonuses of $7,500 for each higher tier
