Overview
This role is part of the legal team focused on privacy compliance and supporting deal-making. You will lead the organization’s global privacy, cybersecurity, and AI governance and compliance efforts, provide strategic legal guidance to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders, and manage a team of legal professionals in this subject matter area.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal guidance on compliance matters related to data privacy, cybersecurity, and AI governance and compliance, staying current with relevant global regulatory and legislative changes, including the European Digital Operations Resiliency Act, the Singapore Digital Operations Resiliency Act, and Brazilian privacy law.
- Develop global, cross-functional policies and initiatives aligning digital security policy, Secure Controls Framework, and other security policies with international legal and regulatory requirements.
- Support the Business Officer team in negotiating client contracts covering cybersecurity, data privacy, and AI terms, including developing and updating contract language, contract playbooks, and fallback positions.
- Lead and develop a team of cybersecurity, data privacy, and AI legal professionals.
- Use dotted line resources effectively without direct reporting relationships.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on complex regulatory, operational, and business matters.
Requirements
- JD degree.
- Minimum of 7 years leading a legal privacy/AI/cyber function at a major SaaS company.
- 15+ years of experience drafting and negotiating privacy, cybersecurity, and AI provisions in complex technology agreements, including significant work related to Cloud technologies.
- Extensive cybersecurity, data privacy, and AI subject matter expertise.
- Experience partnering with internal stakeholders (e.g., finance, compliance, and product teams) to support enterprise business, operational, and financial goals.
- Business-savvy legal professional with experience in complex software license and service contracts.
Preferred Qualifications
- In-house legal advisory experience focused on strategic decisions related to privacy, cybersecurity, and AI.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: 235,000 - 364,900 USD annually.
- This role may also be eligible for annual bonus OR commission, as well as benefits and other incentives.
- Final compensation will be determined during the offer process based on education, experience, skills, qualifications, and market conditions, and may vary from the posted range.
