Overview
This role is part of the Commercial & Global Business Operations (GBO) Legal Team and supports the Americas enterprise business as it expands. The position serves as a trusted advisor to senior Sales leaders operating regionally and globally, working closely with legal and cross-functional business leaders to accelerate enterprise cloud adoption and support customers in scaling securely.
The role also involves setting the course for how legal support is delivered across commercial initiatives, driving innovation in legal processes and support for business growth.
This position reports directly to the Deputy General Counsel, Commercial & Global Business Operations Legal Team.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a business partner for Americas Region leaders across all sales segments and contribute to regional and global extended Sales leadership teams.
- Lead the Americas-based Enterprise Sales & International Operations Legal team by providing practical, business-oriented legal advice for customer-facing commercial matters in the region. Support U.S. public sector and Latin American operations and programs.
- Partner closely with Sales leaders across levels and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including Finance, Trust & Security, Commerce, Channel & GTM Ecosystems, Product, Engineering, and Marketing.
- Support compliance in day-to-day Americas activities, including training and counseling sales professionals and driving compliance initiatives.
- Manage and develop a growing team of 15+ seasoned attorneys.
- Lead budget management, coordinate external counsel, set goals, report metrics, and plan organizational priorities to deliver efficient, scalable legal support.
- Lead key Legal-team projects that support cloud and AI transformation efforts—from early stakeholder engagement and project roadmapping through change management, execution, ROI measurement, and results communication.
- Participate in Commercial & GBO Legal Team leadership, including team planning, setting OKRs, and managing strategic priorities.

On Your First Day, We’ll Expect You To Have
- 15+ years of experience as a practicing attorney, with at least eight years practicing as an in-house lawyer (preferably for a multinational, publicly-listed company).
- 3+ years of management experience with legal teams.
- In-depth knowledge of commercial and contract law based on working in a law firm and/or in-house on complex technology transactions for a software and/or cloud services provider.
- Expertise in other legal fields such as government contracting, intellectual property, privacy, and data protection law is an additional benefit.
- Experience working in a matrixed environment with remote, global, and cross-functional teams.
- JD from an accredited law school and be a member in good standing of at least one state Bar.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Pay (United States)
This role includes three geographic pay zones in the United States. Current base pay ranges for new hires are:
- Zone A: $300,600 - $392,450
- Zone B: $270,540 - $353,205
- Zone C: $249,498 - $325,734
Base pay is set within the range based on skills, knowledge, and experience. Confirm the zone for your specific location with your recruiter.
