Overview
A healthcare industry leader is seeking a Senior Employment and Litigation Counsel to provide business-aligned legal guidance focused on governance, compliance, and operational risk management. This role involves partnering with leadership, compliance stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate complex legal issues into practical recommendations that support responsible execution, improve decision-making, and foster sustainable growth.
Location
- Remote (U.S. based candidates only; no visa sponsorship available)
Compensation
- $168,895 – $232,231 annually
Responsibilities
- Lead and implement the employment legal strategy across a diverse workforce and multi-state operations
- Manage third-party claims and disputes; oversee internal investigations of employee complaints
- Maintain current knowledge of federal and state employment laws and provide compliant legal advice
- Develop strategies to minimize employment-related litigation risks
- Draft employment-related documents including policies and agreements; prepare for state expansions
- Support compliance training initiatives focused on risk awareness and prevention
- Collaborate with outside counsel on specialized legal matters
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited institution
- Admission to a state bar and in good standing
- Minimum of five years practicing as an attorney, with experience in both law firm and in-house environments preferred
- Extensive knowledge of employment laws
- Proven ability to lead complex litigation and negotiations with minimal supervision
- Experience working in a data-driven organization, utilizing reports to manage priorities and projects
- Proactive identification of legal issues and development of effective strategies
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including nights and weekends as needed
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Familiarity with litigation management tools, data analytics platforms, compliance management systems
- Experience with legal research databases, training software for compliance and risk awareness
- Proficiency in document management systems and contract management software
