Overview
This role is for an insurance defense attorney within a bodily injury (BI) unit, focusing on motor vehicle insurance defense litigation. The attorney will provide legal representation to insured clients and insurance companies before courts and arbitration panels, managing cases from inception through resolution.
Responsibilities
- Handle litigation cases from beginning to end, including preparing legal pleadings, motions, statements, and trial briefs.
- Negotiate settlements.
- Collaborate with clients and claims partners to prepare timely litigation reports.
- Analyze written discovery, depositions, medical records.
- Assess claim values to determine risk exposure.
- Attend litigation events, training sessions, and meetings as required.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree or Master of Laws (LLM).
- Minimum of five years of general or auto civil litigation experience.
- Admission to practice law in the state of Texas.
- Must reside in Texas.
- Valid driver's license and auto insurance.
- Compliance with driving standards and policies.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $149,968 - $164,800 per year.
- Annual cash incentive payment (Gainshare) up to 40% of eligible earnings based on company performance.
- Bonus up to $15,000 payable after 90 calendar days of active employment.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Frequent driving is required.
- The position is 100% remote with occasional in-person attendance for litigation events, training, and meetings.
