Overview
This role involves supporting corporate legal functions within a dynamic, AI-powered event technology organization. The position reports directly to the Chief Legal Officer and focuses on corporate law matters including funding, mergers and acquisitions, investments, and strategic operations. The legal professional will also manage corporate secretarial duties for the French entity and its eight global subsidiaries, oversee employee stock ownership plans, and assist with group structuring and new entity formation worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Manage corporate transactions such as funding rounds, M&A, investments, and other strategic operations, including structuring documentation, conducting due diligence, negotiating agreements, and handling post-closing formalities.
- Serve as corporate secretary for the French entity and its eight international subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with local corporate laws.
- Administer employee stock ownership plans (ESOP) distributed globally and manage related formalities.
- Assist in developing and executing legal strategies related to group structuring and establishing new entities internationally.
- Provide corporate legal advice to founders and various company stakeholders.
- Collaborate proactively with the finance team and external legal counsel.
- Potentially support other business law areas including legal operations.
Requirements
- French legal education is mandatory.
- Master 2 degree in Business Law; additional qualifications such as a double major in business school, political science, or an LLM are a plus.
- Admission to practice law in France (CAPA required).
- 4 to 6 years of post-graduation experience in corporate law.
- Experience in other business law areas is advantageous but not required.
- Familiarity with startup clients is a bonus.
- Excellent communication and drafting skills.
- Full professional proficiency in both English and French (written and oral).
- Proactive, autonomous, and solution-oriented approach.
- Rigorous, detail-oriented, and open-minded, with a willingness to adapt processes and try new approaches.
