Overview

A technology company specializing in Connected Operations™ Cloud platforms is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join their Legal team in Europe. This role supports the growth of the business across Europe by managing commercial and general legal matters, primarily focusing on commercial contracts with customers, partners, and vendors. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to various legal areas including privacy, employment, regulatory, corporate, product, and compliance matters.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate and execute commercial contracts with European and other customers, vendors, and business partners.
  • Develop and scale commercial contracting workflows in Europe by drafting form agreements and improving contracting tools and processes.
  • Support a broad range of legal matters related to the company’s European operations, including privacy, employment, regulatory, corporate, product, and compliance issues.
  • Collaborate with the Legal team and cross-functional partners such as Sales, Sales Operations, Partnerships, Finance, Customer Success, Marketing, Product, People, Operations, and Customer Support to drive strategic business and legal initiatives.
  • Provide legal advice and answer questions on a wide range of issues, projects, and initiatives across the company.
  • Exercise initiative and creativity in solving challenges and accomplishing business goals.
  • Help build a best-in-class legal function for the company in Europe.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant legal experience in a law firm and/or in-house position in the United Kingdom.
  • Experience implementing and supporting complex scalable workflows.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong interest in partnering with business stakeholders and understanding the industry.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships.
  • High degree of professional integrity, ethics, and sound judgment.
  • Proactive self-starter who delivers quality work within tight timelines.
  • Humble, adaptable, flexible, with a growth mindset.
  • Law degree from a top university with strong academic credentials.
  • Qualified solicitor or barrister of good standing in England & Wales.
  • Based in the United Kingdom, preferably near London.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working for a technology company.
  • Experience at a major international law firm.
  • Experience working for an international company.
  • Experience driving and supporting non-commercial legal projects and workflows.
  • Fluency in French, German, and/or Dutch.
