Overview
A leading global audience measurement and data analytics organization is seeking a Senior Counsel to join their Legal Department’s Product & Digital Support team. This role supports the Audience Measurement business by providing legal guidance on product development, deployment, and commercial agreements related to data, technology, AI, and market research.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal support for product development, distribution, and sales by interpreting legal, business, and technical concepts to offer practical, business-oriented advice on legal risks and contractual terms.
- Assess product features, data processing initiatives, and designs to identify legal issues, protect intellectual property rights, evaluate AI-related concerns, and ensure compliance with contracts and regulations.
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage commercial contracts including data supplier and integration agreements, licenses, technology services agreements, alliance agreements, and supplier contracts.
- Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and data science teams to manage contractual, regulatory, privacy, and other legal risks.
- Advise on compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements, including those related to AI and data privacy.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years of legal experience, including work in digital media, digital advertising, ad tech, data analytics, AI, or technology sectors, either at a law firm or in-house.
- Extensive knowledge of online, internet, mobile communications, and connected devices (e.g., IP protocols, device identifiers, cookies, content/ad delivery, APIs, SDKs).
- Experience supporting data processing teams working with identity graphs/spines, data matching, data modeling, algorithms, identity resolution, and data clean rooms.
- Solid understanding of AI products, large language models (LLMs), and associated legal issues.
- Proven experience drafting and negotiating complex contracts involving online media, consumer data, digital advertising technology, market research, and data products.
- Familiarity with commercial sales agreements featuring various compensation structures.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations in contracts, technology, licensing, intellectual property, and privacy.
- Working knowledge of intellectual property and data privacy law as it relates to consumer data.
- Juris Doctor degree and a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Background in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics is a plus.
