Overview

A legal team is seeking a Senior Litigation Attorney to manage civil litigation cases, protect policyholders, and provide expert legal representation. This role reports to a Senior Manager of Litigation and involves handling moderately complex cases with a focus on ethical standards and client advocacy.

Responsibilities

  • Manage civil litigation cases for the organization and its insured clients
  • Analyze cases and develop strategies to achieve optimal outcomes
  • Pursue settlements when appropriate
  • Lead discovery processes, draft pleadings and briefs, and conduct legal research
  • Represent clients in trials, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement conferences
  • Advocate in state and federal courts, administrative tribunals, and regulatory hearings
  • Stay informed on legal trends to ensure policies remain enforceable

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor degree
  • Admission to the Oregon State Bar
  • Demonstrated litigation experience, including preparing civil pleadings, motions, discovery, and deposing witnesses
  • Solid knowledge of tort, contract, and insurance law
  • Understanding of rules of Professional Responsibility for the practicing jurisdiction
  • Experience providing customer-driven legal solutions and support

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $113,000.00 - $194,000.00 (varies by job level and geographic location)
