Overview
A healthcare industry leader is seeking a Senior Litigation & Product Counsel to join their team. This role involves supporting high-impact legal work that directly influences business performance and team success. The position requires collaboration across multiple functions to advance priorities, solve complex problems, and deliver measurable outcomes. It offers the opportunity to shape both strategic direction and day-to-day execution in a fast-paced environment.
Location: Remote (U.S. based candidates only; no visa sponsorship available)
Compensation: $179,000 – $230,000 annually
Responsibilities
- Manage disputes with healthcare providers and vendors related to Medicare Advantage
- Partner with business units to proactively manage litigation and regulatory risk
- Serve as the primary legal advisor for Payment Integrity and Special Investigations Unit
- Collaborate with the product team on the development of the Counterpart Assistant feature
- Provide ongoing legal advice on CMS regulations and compliance matters
- Identify areas of litigation risk and develop mitigation strategies
Requirements
- J.D. degree from an accredited law school
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in litigation, investigations, or product counseling at a large law firm
- Experience working with health insurance clients, particularly in managed care
- Familiarity with the Anti-Kickback Statute (AKS), False Claims Act (FCA), and CMS regulations
- Proven ability to develop strategies to mitigate litigation and regulatory risk
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience collaborating with product teams
- Knowledge of legal technology tools such as contract management systems
- Familiarity with data analytics tools for legal case management
- Experience using regulatory compliance software to track CMS and healthcare regulations
- Proficiency with project management tools like JIRA or Asana for legal project tracking
