Overview
A reputable business immigration law firm with a remote workforce across the United States is seeking a Senior Paralegal specializing in business immigration. This is a permanent, full-time position focused on handling high volumes of non-immigrant visa (NIV) case types including H-1B, L-1, TN, E-3, and RFE processing.
Responsibilities
- Independently analyze information and documents to prepare and compile immigration petitions and applications for attorney review.
- Manage effective document intake by reviewing documents for validity and analyzing immigration status.
- Draft case documents, statutory forms, and templated letters of support for NIV and immigrant visa (IV) applications.
- Track project deadlines and workload independently.
- Identify and flag potential case-related issues to attorneys or senior case managers promptly.
- Review visa petitions prepared by less experienced paralegal staff as needed.
- Use an online immigration case tracking system to monitor case status and activities daily.
- Draft timely responses to requests for evidence (RFEs).
- Coordinate with Client Support Specialists for printing, scanning, and mailing of cases and service requests.
- Communicate with clients and foreign nationals regarding case processing and status.
- Prioritize daily workload based on fluctuating client deadlines while maintaining urgency.
- Contribute positively to team morale, especially within a remote work environment.
Requirements
- 3-4 years of experience as an Immigration Paralegal, specifically drafting complex matters.
- Bachelor’s degree completed is highly desirable.
- Genuine interest in U.S. immigration with an empathetic approach to clients and foreign nationals.
- Experience drafting complex NIV visas such as H, L, TN, and O visa applications preferred.
- Experience managing a high volume of active and inactive cases simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, including strong spelling and grammar.
- Strong attention to detail ensuring consistent accuracy.
- Experience communicating directly with HR staff and/or foreign nationals regarding case requirements.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines and prioritize caseload effectively.
- Strong computer literacy and ability to adapt to specialized case processing software.
- Ability to follow due process, templates, and adapt to evolving industry innovations.
- Minimum intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Outlook, Word).
- Friendly, courteous, and respectful demeanor with the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual salary range: $50,000 to $80,000
