Overview

A Senior Staff Attorney position is available for an experienced litigator to handle cases primarily in the greater Los Angeles area and surrounding Southern California regions. This remote role involves managing complex litigation with a focus on Premises Liability, Products Liability, Construction Site accidents, and Commercial/Personal Automobile accidents. The attorney will report to the Staff Legal Managing Attorney or Assistant Managing Attorney.

Responsibilities

  • Manage complex and high-exposure litigation cases independently.
  • Analyze substantive and procedural legal and factual issues.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and develop defense strategies.
  • Prepare complex pleadings, written discovery, depositions, motions, and briefs without supervision.
  • Provide timely legal advice and information to clients and Claims customers in a technology-driven environment.
  • Communicate effectively with courts, witnesses, opposing counsel, and co-counsel following office procedures.
  • Ensure prompt and efficient case disposition.
  • Prepare and present witnesses and evidence at trials, judicial and administrative hearings, and alternative dispute resolutions.
  • Research, draft, file, and argue motions.
  • Provide damage and liability opinions to clients and Claims customers.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in California and local federal courts.
  • Knowledge of California courts, especially Southern California jurisdictions.
  • Member in good standing of the applicable Bar Association.
  • Minimum of 7 years of legal experience.
  • Documented first-chair jury trial and appellate experience.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficient communication, computer, and technology skills with the ability to quickly adapt to new software.
  • Demonstrated expertise in handling claim cases and litigation.

Additional Information

  • This is a remote position; however, periodic travel within Southern California, particularly in and around the Greater Los Angeles area, may be required.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annual base salary range: $132,400 - $198,600.
  • Actual salary may vary based on performance, proficiency, and demonstrated competencies.
  • Total compensation package may include bonuses, long-term incentives, and recognition programs.
