Overview

This role provides underwriting support and expertise related to the issuance of real estate title insurance commitments and policies. The position involves utilizing underwriting standards and guidelines within delegated authority limits to underwrite title insurance and provide guidance in real estate settlement services.

This is a remote position open to candidates residing in Texas or Oklahoma.

Responsibilities

  • Provide underwriting support, counsel, and authorization to company personnel, agents, and customers regarding real estate title insurance commitments and policies.
  • Utilize underwriting standards and guidelines within delegated authority limits to underwrite title insurance issuance.
  • Guide company personnel in the performance of real estate settlement services.
  • Issue underwriting standards and guidelines in accordance with established company processes.
  • Communicate information related to underwriting and real estate settlement services to the team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Law degree required.
  • Admission to practice law in the state of employment (Texas or Oklahoma).
  • Licensed to practice law and in good standing.
  • 8-10 years of title underwriting experience.
  • Experience with Texas or Oklahoma title underwriting.
  • Familiarity with real estate law.
  • Excellent understanding of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of real estate title and settlement processes.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to real estate title insurance and settlement services.
  • Understanding of underwriting real estate transactions for title insurance policy issuance.
  • Ability to collaborate and act decisively.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills; able to multi-task, prioritize, and follow up in a timely manner.
  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Ability to think abstractly and develop creative solutions.
  • Capacity to make unique yet sound decisions to resolve complex issues.
  • Ability to build relationships and create rapport.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $129,300.00 - $172,300.00 annually.
  • Pay is based on factors including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements, and geographic location.
