Overview
This role supports the organization’s direct-to-homeowner solar sales and financing business and its New Homes business. You will join a collegial legal team of 25 professionals and report to the Assistant General Counsel.
Responsibilities
- Primarily support contracts for New Homes and TPO business, with focus on consumer contracts and dealer contracts.
- Negotiate, draft, and review commercial agreements with customers, suppliers, partners, and other third parties.
- Project manage assigned legal matters and collaborate across cross-functional teams to advance projects to timely completion aligned with business objectives and growth plans.
- Provide legal support for litigation, regulatory matters, consumer protection, data privacy, cybersecurity, and other relevant areas of law as needed.
- Create legal and commercial forms and processes and educate the business on important legal and commercial matters.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience.
- Top law firm training preferred.
- In-house experience, preferably with a broad range of responsibilities.
- Experience working for a direct-to-homeowner solar sales and financing business or other clean energy or global technology company is a plus.
- Strong judgment and effective communication with business colleagues, including the ability to explain risks in a way that is digestible to a non-attorney audience.
- Proactive, can-do attitude; eager to take on more responsibility, learn new areas of law, and collaborate with colleagues outside of legal to build cross-functional relationships; highly self-motivated with the ability to move projects forward without frequent supervision.
- Demonstrated career progression.

Compensation & Benefits
In accordance with applicable pay transparency laws, the anticipated annual base salary for this position is:
- Zone 1 (Bay Area, NYC): $184,900 - $231,100
- Zone 2 (CA, NJ, NY): $169,500 - $211,900
- Zone 3 (All others): $154,100 - $192,600
The applicable salary range is based on the employee’s primary work location. Individual compensation will be determined based on qualifications, relevant experience, education, skills, internal equity, and other business-related factors.
