Overview

A global leader in information management is seeking a high-performing, self-directed Legal Counsel to support the Cyber Security Division. This role offers the opportunity to learn the business of cyber resilience and contribute meaningfully to the division’s growth. The position reports directly to the Associate General Counsel (Director, Legal Counsel) for the Cyber Security SMB/C Division and involves working within a collaborative legal team with global exposure.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with various departments to close deals and achieve commercial objectives for the Cyber Security SMB/C Division
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements including license, SaaS subscription, master and professional services, distribution, reseller, OEM, and privacy-related agreements
  • Lead strategic legal initiatives, including developing and implementing processes to improve time-to-contract without materially increasing risk
  • Provide practical legal guidance to Sales and Procurement teams balancing business objectives and legal risk
  • Stay informed on changing regulations, laws, and industry standards relevant to the business

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial contracting, preferably in an in-house legal role
  • Experience with SaaS subscription agreements, software licenses, master and professional services agreements, distribution and reseller agreements, OEM agreements, and data processing agreements
  • Demonstrated good judgment and decision-making in a legal role with meaningful responsibility
  • Membership in good standing with at least one state bar
  • Ability to work autonomously and independently manage high-value projects to completion
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with non-legal colleagues, external partners, and clients
  • Sound business judgment with the ability to balance business objectives and legal risk appropriately
  • Flexibility to adapt and thrive in a dynamic, evolving business unit within a global corporation

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $176,700 - $265,200, depending on education, experience, skills, geographic location, and alignment with internal equity and external market
